Even with his eyes missing, I couldn't help but fall in love! |
Aaron's repairs are still underway. The first thing to do was a tough project and ended up requiring help - which I begged
from Blythe. He had a bellows style crier in his body and it had come loose and the weight had separated from that, too. Both
pieces were banging around and tearing him up from the inside out. There was no way to open the body and the holes for stringing
his limbs are too small for fingers, so the work was all accomplished through the holes with chopsticks to maneuver the pieces
and to apply the glue and putty - all illuminated with a Mag-lite shown through another opening. Good thing there were five
holes! It was a tedious process, but we both felt rather proud of our accomplishment when we were done!

Aaron Matthew stole my heart just as completely as Brandon and Susannah had before him. And I knew he was a boy from the start!
His listing talked about all his clothes - and also that his eyes were missing, but his head rattled... I decided to risk
it and adopted him on a snipe. On my instructions, the seller removed his wig and found his eyes apparently intact, so packed
it all safely for shipping. I could hardly wait until he came home!
He was a good news/bad news baby. His eyes looked good, but turned out to be broken. Since it was a clean break and in
a non-stressed area, I chose to reglue instead of replace. I have the original pivots, also, so once he is ready to go back
together, I'm hoping for an easy project of resetting. His clothes turned out to be an eclectic assortment of things, none
of which was proper or appropriate for him - with the exception of a tiny blue undershirt. I KNEW he was a boy! He has offered
to share the clothing he brought with some of his siblings, but the sweet little turquoise pin he had is especially for sister
Susannah. Now, isn't he a dear little boy?

In reality, the clothes were multi-layered and ill-fitting. Only the little undershirt was perfect. |
